Charissa was born in Seattle Washington, United States on May 4, 1982. ESPN analyst who was selected as co-host of SportsNation in 2012 She was also co-host of the ABC show Splash along with Joey Lawrence. Thompson is a native of Seattle Washington. Since her early years she knew that her dream job would be to broadcast. She attended Inglemoor High School, Kenmore Washington. Thompson relocated to California so she could attend a California Community college. She later transferred to Santa Barbara, the University of California, Santa Barbara where she graduated with an B.A. in Law and Society in 2004. Thompson says that, despite everything Sports Illustrated said about her decision to leave Washington State in order to attend the community college of California before transferring onto UC Santa Barbara she never was a student at WSU. Thompson got an offer from Sports Illustrated to do body painting in their Swimsuit issue prior to beginning her broadcasting career. They appeared in The Good Time cover by Owl City as well as Carly Rae jepsen and She. The collaboration was instrumental in helping to increase their recognition.
