Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American entrepreneur for over twenty years. Her current position is that of president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the NBA's majority owners. A California native Buss has been raised by an affluent family. Jerry Buss, her father was a businessman in the field of real estate and later was the owner of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. When she was in the year 1972, her parents separated in divorce and she was left feeling emotionally abandoned. As a 19-year-old she was able to take over her role as General Manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as their General Manager. She later set up her own Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. She held the position of President of Great Western Forum prior to becoming the vice-president of Lakers. Buss along with her five brothers and sisters and their father who was the owner of the Lakers and ruled them up to his death in 2013, inherited this ownership by way of the trust. They each enjoyed equal vote rights. She was named president of Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also a co-owner in Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling promotion that is based within Los Angeles.
