April Ross

April Ross is one of the few female beach volleyball stars who have managed to capture medals at many Olympics. In Tokyo over the next few days, she'll try to claim her third Olympic medal along with first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross is determined to earn more than her initial Olympic medal. This may be the last opportunity for her as she is 39 years old. Still confident nevertheless. Ross said on NBC Boston that he believes when they perform at their very top, or even a good game, then they will be able to win gold. Also, I am going to play a bit of chance. Ross was born on August 22, 1982, located in Costa Mesa California. She was raised there by her parents. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of athletics while she was at Newport Harbor High School. In her time as a college athlete, she also played indoor volleyball and track. When she played in the final sport, she clearly stood out. During her high school career she played middle blocker outside hitter and setter on the volleyball court according to her university bio. The award was presented to her as The Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the Year in 1999 due to her accomplishments. Her volleyball skills also earned her the Orange County Athlete of the Award in the year 2000. Ross and Klineman are continuing to play since the year 2017. However, Ross had already been a seasoned player in the world of beach volleyball prior to they formed the team. There is no doubt that she has been a prominent player on the beach throughout the years. Indeed, Ross has won numerous tournaments, one of which was one with an iconic volleyball legend. Between 2007 until 2013, she was a team alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Kessy and Ross were strong on the world stage, claiming a 2009 world title together. In 2012, the duo took silver in London's Olympic Games. Misty Maytreanor's iconic team together with Kerri Jennings took home the gold. As fate would have it Ross got Walsh Jennings' new partner as May-Treanor stepped down. In 2016, the pair won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was part of the USC Trojans in college years after she graduated high school. Ross's playing time with the Trojans was awe-inspiring. While a freshman in the year 2000 she earned Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the Year honors and earned an All-American. Furthermore, she assisted her Trojans in reaching the Final Four. She was devastated by a personal loss in her sophomore season and yet she came back in the ranks of an All-American. In her two final years as a member of the Trojans, she helped them to win two consecutive titles. As an individual she established herself in the history books by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This award was given to the most outstanding female player in the country. Ross was an international relations major at USC. Margie Ross did not see her daughter rise to the top in the world of beach volleyball. Ross lost her mother to breast cancer in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She is deeply in love with her late parent. Margie has always been a source of inspiration to her both at and off the beaches.
